Founding Software Engineer

Rebel builds enterprise software that powers the decisions and operations of the world's most competitive institutions. We're looking for a Founding Software Engineer who will be one of the first technical hires — someone who ships fast, thinks in systems, and has genuine depth in agentic AI.

You'll work directly with the founding team to build, deploy, and scale the core Rebel platform. This is a zero-to-one role: you'll shape architecture, set engineering culture, and own critical systems from day one.

• Design and build agentic AI systems that power autonomous and semi-autonomous decisions and operations at enterprise scale
• Own backend services end-to-end — from architecture to production
• Build and orchestrate multi-agent pipelines using Python, LLMs, and tool-use frameworks
• Collaborate with the founding team to define product direction and technical roadmap
• Set the engineering bar: code quality, testing, observability, and deployment practices
• Move fast — iterate, ship, learn, repeat

• Strong Python engineering: You write clean, production-grade Python and know the ecosystem deeply (async, type systems, tooling)
• Agentic AI expertise:You've built systems with autonomous agents, tool use, memory, and multi-step reasoning — not just called an API
• 2+ years of experience building software in production environments; startup experience strongly preferred
• Startup DNA:You thrive in ambiguity, own outcomes, and don't wait to be told what to do
• Systems thinker who can reason about scale, latency, and reliability from the start
• Bonus: experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, custom), vector databases, or enterprise integrations
